A case where the production capacity improved by about 25%, from 120C/T to 150C/T in terms of production per hour!

We would like to introduce a case study on improving production capacity for a agricultural machinery parts manufacturer located in Tochigi Prefecture. As part of our efforts, we replaced the drive unit with a servo motor and secured the desired processing capacity through high-speed positioning control. As a result, we established a high-speed production environment using a uniquely developed condition-setting method. We would like to introduce KHD processing, a unique development technology by Kuniyu Thermal Engineering. From the perspectives of weight reduction for improved fuel efficiency and enhanced safety, the introduction of high-strength steel materials is increasing. However, these materials are difficult to process, leading to significant wear on molds and tools, which necessitates improvements in strength and durability. Our development technology applies vacuum carburizing treatment to these tools, achieving excellent surface modification treatment for high surface pressure wear resistance, thereby extending the "lifespan" of molds and tools. This results in cost reduction through decreased frequency of mold replacements and improved productivity, while also addressing the anticipated "further adaptation to higher strength steel materials" in the future. Surface hardening heat treatment method "N-Quench"

Solving conventional issues! Surface hardening heat treatment that reduces quenching distortion and shortens processing time!

"N-Quench" refers to a nitriding quenching process that allows nitrogen to penetrate and diffuse into steel, performing quenching from the austenite state. By introducing nitrogen and performing quenching, a surface hardness of about 850 HV can be achieved even with inexpensive SPCC materials, and it is possible to increase hardness within the range where nitrogen has diffused internally. The amount of distortion is about half that of carburizing nitriding quenching and is only slightly larger than that of gas soft nitriding. Additionally, the friction coefficient and seizure surface pressure are almost equivalent to those of carburizing nitriding and gas soft nitriding, and the wear amount is favorable, being 1/2 of carburizing nitriding materials and 1/3 of gas soft nitriding materials. Technical Introduction: "Vacuum Heat Treatment"

It is possible to choose cooling methods such as gas cooling, high-pressure gas cooling, and oil cooling, focusing on vacuum hardening and tempering of tool steel.

Vacuum heat treatment technology has developed alongside the advancement of production equipment. When metal materials such as automotive parts and molds are quenched (heated and cooled) in the atmosphere, the oxygen in the air reacts chemically with the iron in the metal materials, causing the surface to oxidize and turn into iron oxide. However, vacuum heat treatment creates a protective atmosphere that prevents oxidation, reduction, nitriding, and carburizing by utilizing various exhaust pumps to achieve a high vacuum within the equipment, thereby lowering the partial pressure of oxygen. As a result, even when metal materials are quenched (heated and cooled), they finish with a glossy appearance.
