0191 Mass flow conversion of small hoppers

The additional installation of the Brodisk has resolved the funnel flow.

We received an order for three Brody Disk Minis (including a controller) from an engineering company as a measure to address the discharge issues of a small hopper. After installation at the user's factory, the initial problems were improved; however, it was still experiencing funnel flow, and they consulted us about wanting to achieve as much mass flow as possible. After reviewing the powder specifications and the hopper drawings, we proposed adding three more Brody Disk Minis above the three that were already installed. After the addition, the funnel flow was resolved, and they have been using it smoothly. Even after adding the Brody Disk Minis, the existing controller was sufficient, keeping the total cost limited. In the supply hopper, the phenomenon of arching (bridging) occurred due to the balance of powder pressure. The customer initially installed multiple air knockers, but that did not resolve the issue, leading to their consultation. Since it is a square hopper, by simply installing two blow discs, one on each side, and with a minimal air ON time, the arching was eliminated. The greatest feature of the blow disc is that it injects air along the inner wall of the hopper. The powder pressure causes the powder to be pressed against the inner wall of the hopper, increasing the friction between the particles and the wall, which leads to the arching phenomenon; however, our product is very effective in addressing this issue. The raw materials are transported by air to the raw material hopper of the bulk bag filling device, and from the hopper, the materials are fed to the bulk bag using a table feeder and a screw feeder. In cases where the materials are being cut out, the raw materials became biased in one direction within the hopper, leading to unstable discharge of the materials.
