Plastic Injection Molding "Mold Design and Production"

We accept various insert molding for materials such as brass, aluminum, and stainless steel.

At Hirozawa Plastic Industry Co., Ltd., we specialize in molding small parts that are "palm-sized" in small lots. We have particularly extensive experience with super engineering plastics. Additionally, we excel in insert molding with materials such as brass, aluminum, and stainless steel. Since we procure most of the resin materials and insert fittings in-house, we can eliminate the hassle of ordering from different suppliers for each component. We generally handle lots ranging from about 100 to 10,000 units. We also regularly engage in mold design and manufacturing, including prototypes. Even if we cannot accommodate certain sizes or lots, we may be able to handle them through outsourcing, so please feel free to contact us! For detailed information, please download our catalog.

Metal Injection Molding (MIM)

Metal injection molding (MIM) enables mass production of complex shapes. It is a method suitable for mass-produced items with intricate designs.

This is an introduction to Metal Injection Molding (MIM). It is a method suitable for mass production of complex shapes with product weights of approximately 10g to 20g. (When exceeding 30g, it tends to be more cost-effective to perform additional processing on precision cast products.) The method offers high freedom of shape, allowing for sharp edges, irregular holes, and three-dimensional shapes. We can accommodate quantities starting from several hundred pieces per lot. We specialize in small quantities of diverse products. Please feel free to consult with us. 【Features of Metal Injection Molding (MIM)】 ■ High dimensional accuracy can be achieved. ■ Surface roughness is approximately Rmax 8μm, and it is possible to achieve sub-micron surface roughness with processes like glossy barrel finishing. ■ Heat treatment and surface treatment equivalent to that of melted materials are possible. 【What is Metal Injection Molding (MIM)?】 It is a method that combines the technologies of plastic injection molding and metal powder metallurgy. It achieves mechanical strength close to that of melted materials, which cannot be obtained through powder sintering. Metal powder is injected together with resin to form the shape. After that, solvent debinding is performed, followed by vacuum sintering. At this stage, the product dimensions shrink, requiring expertise and experience.

Gauss Corporation Powder Injection Molding Technology Introduction

Products can be easily manufactured even from materials and shapes that are difficult to cut!

The "Powder Injection Molding Method" is a manufacturing process that involves mixing organic binders with materials, injecting them into a mold, and then debinding followed by sintering. Since the raw material is in powder form, it is an excellent technology that allows for easy productization even for materials that are difficult to machine or have complex shapes. Unlike other techniques, it can form the final product shape (=NET) or something close to it in one go. Our company conducts Metal Powder Injection Molding (MIM) and Ceramic Powder Injection Molding (CIM), producing products with raw materials tailored to our customers' applications. Please feel free to inquire. 【Features】 ■ The most advantageous manufacturing method for selecting materials and creating products with free shapes ■ Suitable for productization of materials that are difficult to machine due to the use of powder as raw material ■ High precision that allows for the omission of post-processing ■ Capable of producing both metals and ceramics *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

MIM suitable for processing difficult-to-cut materials such as stainless steel and titanium.

By changing the processing that was traditionally done through cutting to the MIM method, we have reduced costs by 50%, eliminated parting lines, and improved appearance!

The MIM manufacturing method involves molding two parts and joining them, but it allows for molding with a single mold. This eliminates PL step differences at the joints and deformation of hollow sections due to joining pressure, resulting in cost reductions through integration. Depending on the metal material, it can flexibly accommodate difficult-to-machine materials (such as stainless steel and titanium) and complex shapes, enabling metal molding. Since molds are created, mass production is also possible. 【Features】 ■ No PL step differences at the joints ■ No deformation of hollow sections due to joining pressure ■ Cost reductions through integration ■ Metal molding is possible even for complex shapes that are difficult to machine ■ Mass production is possible due to mold creation ■ Flexible response depending on the metal material *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Development of 3D aircraft components using Inconel 718 manufactured by the MIM process.

Challenge in Jet Engine Component Development! Introduction to Prototype Development of 3D Shaped Parts Using MIM Technology.

The "MIM manufacturing method" is a technology for producing metal products by injecting a compound mixed with metal powder, followed by debinding and sintering. Our company has successfully commercialized Inconel 718, known for its high machinability difficulty, using the "MIM manufacturing method." This allows for the production of 3D-shaped parts without compromising the high strength and high oxidation resistance of Inconel 718 in high-temperature environments. Furthermore, we have developed prototype MIM parts using Inconel 718, which is used in aircraft jet engine components. In this prototype development, we adopted an original compound material made from Inconel 718 manufactured by gas atomization. The relative density is maintained at 98%, and the dimensional accuracy is kept to about 0.15%. [Features] - Does not compromise the high strength and high oxidation resistance of Inconel 718 in high-temperature environments - Capable of producing 3D-shaped parts - Utilizes gas-atomized powder with low oxygen concentration - Achieves fatigue strength equivalent to forged materials - Relative density is 98%, and dimensional accuracy is approximately 0.15% *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
