Suppression of microcracks that occur in the laser welding area.
A successful case of establishing a technology that does not generate microcracks by using waveform control functions!
Here are some examples of the utilization of "T-LASER." Laser welding poses a problem where microcracks can occur when adding material to high-hardness materials due to rapid heating and cooling. Additionally, even if cracks are not visible on the added material bead, there may be internal cracks, and finishing with electrical discharge machining can sometimes accentuate these cracks. By utilizing waveform control functions instead of rectangular waves, we conducted trials with the belief that microcracks could be suppressed even when adding material to high-hardness materials. By understanding the mechanisms that lead to crack formation, we were able to identify which waveforms are effective, and by using the waveform control function, we successfully established a technique that prevents microcracks from occurring after laser welding or electrical discharge machining.
