[Solution Case] Development of Thorium Tungsten Alternative Materials

A case where results equivalent to those of previous thorium tungsten evaluations were obtained.

Thorium tungsten is a material that adds thorium oxide to tungsten, resulting in a low work function, good electron emission properties, and stable discharge characteristics. However, thorium oxide is a radioactive substance, and its manufacturing requires inspection and approval, with finished products containing it also subject to NORM guidelines. Taking into account the requests and issues of various lamp manufacturing companies both domestically and internationally, we collaborated with Japan Tungsten to develop materials that can withstand lamp usage. Development was primarily focused on neodymium oxide and hafnium oxide, achieving evaluation results in lamp lighting assessments—considering crystal growth, strength, toxicity, discharge characteristics, blackening, and lifespan—comparable to those of conventional thorium tungsten. *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.*

[Solution Case] Manufacturing of Emitter-Impregnated Porous W Electrodes

Conducting genuine trial and error with agility! Our approach to development.

To achieve low-energy discharge, the electrodes must be made of materials with a low work function. One method is to add oxides and manufacture them through sintering; however, if there are too many oxides, the sintering temperature for tungsten may differ, which can result in insufficient sintering conditions. In such cases, tungsten alone can meet the necessary sintering conditions and maintain its physical properties at a high level. Subsequently, emitters that have been manufactured separately and can add easy discharge properties are impregnated into the sintered tungsten, ultimately resulting in a state where both are physically and chemically bonded. To realize this, hundreds or thousands of patterns must be repeatedly experimented with and developed. This diligent trial-and-error approach, carried out with agility, is the attitude and characteristic of our company's development efforts. *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.*

[Solution Case] Development and Effects of a Ultra-High Temperature 2800℃ Vacuum Furnace

Due to the ample temperature range, it is possible to completely remove impurities, including areas where the temperature is less likely to rise.

To promote crystal growth without allowing hydrogen molecules to enter the grain boundaries, a high vacuum environment was necessary. Additionally, to achieve secondary recrystallization of potassium-doped tungsten, it was also required to heat the workpiece itself to over 2000°C. As a result, we developed the equipment in-house. The first model achieved a work temperature of up to 2000°C, and the subsequent third model reached up to 2800°C. This equipment is utilized not only for the manufacturing of halogen lamp components but also for various manufacturing processes that require ultra-high temperature treatment. In particular, it has become indispensable for the removal of strong impurities, such as alumina for medical components and electrodes for ultra-high pressure mercury lamps. *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.

Grinding process (slimming) "Pit suppression treatment"

Prototyping and processing support available! By applying it as a pre-treatment for chemical polishing, it suppresses pits.

The "Pit Suppression Treatment" can suppress the spread of pits caused by scratches and microcracks. It has a proven track record as a preprocessing step for thinning in LCD panels. Microcracks often occur in machined areas such as cutting surfaces, and even with general strengthening treatments, these areas tend to crack more easily. However, by performing this treatment before the strengthening process, the glass material becomes less prone to cracking. 【Features】 - By simply adding one step to chemical polishing, and with a short processing time, lead times can be reduced compared to mechanical polishing. - The processing time is significantly faster than mechanical polishing, with no risk of microcrack occurrence. - The material becomes less prone to cracking, leading to improved yield. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Processing and polishing of printed circuit boards.

It has an astonishing grinding power compared to conventional non-woven fabric rolls in printed circuit board polishing.

Ceramic rolls are the latest polishing material that far surpasses the grinding power and precision grinding surface of the non-woven fabric rolls traditionally used for printed circuit board polishing. They are currently utilized not only for printed circuit board polishing but also in various other fields. They polish large protrusions and hard inks with a powerful grinding force that conventional rolls do not possess. There is absolutely no hole bleeding regardless of the size of the holes, and the ink surface finishes flat. They are also effective for polishing metal pastes. 【Features】 - Deburring polishing after drilling - Removal of roughness after plating and leveling - Removal of prepreg resin after IVH board pressing - Leveling of resin in build-up resin boards and resin-coated boards - Leveling of plating height for active boards and plated bumps There is no copper dragging due to polishing, enabling the formation of fine line patterns. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Holding technology "Buff Polishing"

It is possible to handle a wide range from processing that requires high grinding power to gloss and mirror finishing!

"Buff polishing" is a process that involves rotating a polishing wheel (buff) made of flexible materials such as cloth, leather, or rubber, which holds abrasive particles on its surface, at high speed, and pressing the workpiece against it to polish the surface of the workpiece. It is commonly used for finishing polishing, but by selecting the abrasive particles and polishing agents, it can accommodate a wide range of applications from processes requiring high grinding power, such as burr removal and excess material removal, to gloss and mirror finishes. At Shizutech, we have introduced automation using robots to achieve stable quality, while also providing detailed finishing by skilled craftsmen. 【Method Features】 ■ A type of abrasive processing method ■ High-speed rotation of cloth or similar materials that hold abrasive particles on the surface ■ By changing the size of the abrasive particles and polishing agents, it can accommodate a wide range of applications from processes requiring high grinding power, such as burr removal and excess material removal, to detailed finishes like gloss and mirror finishes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
