Choose a non-stick coating.

"Adhesives and glues," "dry powders and wet powders," etc., even similar substances require different suitable coatings. To prevent sticking, it is necessary to choose the appropriate non-stick coating.

Fluororesin Coating: "What is the Non-Stick Property of Fluororesin?"

What are the characteristics of the representative property of fluoropolymer coatings, specifically Teflon coatings, known as "non-stick"? Here, we will introduce the non-stick functionality.

■ The "Non-Stick Property" of Fluoropolymer Non-stick property refers to the characteristic of being easy to release and not adhere, or to adhere less, even to strongly adhesive substances. For example, fluoropolymers excel in water and oil repellency, have a large contact angle, and possess a property of being difficult to wet due to their molecular structure. The measure of wettability, "critical surface tension (γc)," is extremely low for fluoropolymers, making it easy for liquids to be repelled and difficult to wet. Coatings that utilize this functionality are effective for release applications, applications where adhesion needs to be minimized, and for simplifying cleaning. 【Reference Data on Non-Stick Property】 ■ Contact Angle of Water (°) PTFE ... 114 PFA ... 105-110 FEP ... 115 ETFE ... 96 ■ Contact Angle of n-HD (°) PTFE ... 34-45 PFA ... >45 FEP ... 41-45 ETFE ... 28 ■ Surface Free Energy of Solids (dyn/cm) PTFE ... 18.5 PFA ... 17.8 FEP ... 17.8 ETFE ... 22.1 *For detailed information on non-stick properties, please download the PDF or contact us.

For applications that cannot be satisfied with fluorine or silicone! Non-stick coating.

Experience excellent non-stick properties for applications that cannot be satisfied with Teflon or silicone coatings! Anti-stick coating.

To prevent adhesion of sticky substances, fluoropolymer coatings (Teflon™ coatings) and silicone coatings are commonly used, but the following challenges may arise: [Challenge 1] Even with surface treatments claiming to prevent sticking, there was not much change. [Challenge 2] It started sticking unexpectedly quickly during use. [Challenge 3] Silicone coating transfers and causes defects in the bonding process (fluoropolymer did not provide sufficient effectiveness, leading to the choice of silicone). Recently, there has been an increase in customers needing solutions for more adhesive materials, such as wanting to release molten resins that do not fully solidify to shorten processing time. "Yoshida SKT has coatings that can improve such situations." With general fluoropolymer coatings, sticky substances can adhere due to various factors. In response, treatments that create a rough surface to reduce the contact area with sticky substances are known. Our company has a unique technology to create convex surfaces using fluoropolymer and is now offering a kit to experience its effects for free! ▼ You can apply from the official Yoshida SKT website below.

Prevents adhesion even with high-temperature adhesives! Strong against scratches and peeling - non-stick coating.

In general fluoropolymer coatings, it is difficult to prevent adhesion with high-temperature adhesives. Here are examples of coatings with excellent release properties and resistance to film damage.

■Concern The customer's adhesive manufacturer was producing various products by stirring and mixing adhesives in stainless steel beakers. During this process, the adhesive would stick to the inner walls of the beaker, preventing proper mixing, so a good non-stick coating was needed. ■Background The customer was already using a fluororesin coating. However, the stirring of the adhesive was conducted at high temperatures above 200°C, and issues arose where the coating would peel off due to contact between the beaker and the stirring blades, leading to contamination of the product with foreign substances. Therefore, they were looking for a coating that offered higher non-stick properties and was less likely to peel off due to scratches. ■Adopted Coating FSR (Fluoro Super Release) HR-3110R ■Adoption Process and Effects Initially, tests were conducted with CHC coat, which has high film hardness even at high temperatures, but some adhesion and film peeling occurred. Therefore, tests were conducted with FSR, which excels in non-stick properties in high-temperature environments. After testing with samples, the beaker was treated with "FSR HR-3110R." As a result, it exhibited non-stick properties that were incomparable to the fluororesin coating, and after about a month of use, there was almost no scratching or peeling of the coating, leading to its adoption.

Coating that controls the contact area - "Non-stick coating"

Prevention of sticking for sticky materials such as molten resin plastic, labels, adhesive tape, and raw rubber. This is a coating that exhibits excellent non-stick properties.

We have prepared a series that exhibits excellent non-stick properties, particularly against sticky substances, molten resins, adhesives, and adhesive tapes. ■ Series Composition - Super TP/TP Series (composed entirely of fluororesin) - Super CTT Series (composed of surface treatment + silicone-based materials) - Super Alloy Coating (composed of fluorine type and silicone type) ■ Super TP/TP Series (composed entirely of fluororesin) This series can be used in silicone-free environments. Additionally, since it is made entirely of fluororesin, there is no concern about transfer or contamination from silicone oils. Improved slip properties can also be expected due to reduced contact area. ■ Super CTT Series (convex surface + silicone rubber-based) Due to the use of silicone, this series exhibits excellent non-stick properties and low tackiness. Consideration for transfer to the counterpart material is necessary during use. ■ Super Alloy Coating A convex release coating that balances flexibility and high hardness. Surface treatment of HV600 can also be processed onto resins and sponge rubber. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

A non-stick coating that allows adhesive tape to be easily peeled off with a 1μm thin film.

Nano Process (R) TLS-200 allows for non-stick coating while maintaining high surface precision with a thin film coating of approximately 1μm.

The "Nano Process (R) TLS-200" has almost no thickness due to the coating, so there is little need to consider the thickness of the coating, allowing for effects such as non-stick, water-repellent, and oil-repellent properties. Even with sharp substrates like blades, processing can be done while maintaining their shape, enabling surface modification of components in a wide range of industries, including production equipment transport lines and packaging processes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. ▼ Here is the official Yoshida SKT website for "Nano Process (R)" ▼

Fluororesin Coating: "What is the relationship between non-stick properties and water repellency?"

[Function Explanation] Understanding the mechanism of adhesion reveals the best release and surface treatment! Surface energy and water repellency | What is the relationship between non-stickiness and water repellency?

Why does fluoropolymer coating repel water? We will introduce the relationship between surface energy, non-stick properties, and water repellency. ■ The relationship between water droplets and surface energy The reason the surface of fluoropolymer coating repels water is that the surface tension of water acts strongly. The same principle applies to sticky substances. In other words, "difficult to wet = difficult to stick." The action of liquid surface tension is strongly related to the surface free energy of solids. Surface free energy is the force that tries to attract the molecules of the contacting counterpart. Water is a substance with higher surface tension compared to oil. When in contact with a solid that has the same surface free energy, oil tends to spread and wet more easily, while water tends to bead up and is harder to wet. The smaller the surface free energy of the solid compared to the liquid it contacts, and the greater the difference, the more difficult it becomes for the liquid to wet (stick). The surface of fluoropolymer coating has very low surface free energy, which allows it to repel not only water but also oil, making it an effective surface treatment for release purposes due to its low tendency to stick. What is a coating that excels in non-stick and release properties?

Introducing a coating that is effective for applications where you want to reduce product release and adhesion, and simplifies equipment cleaning with its excellent non-stick and release properties!

"Non-stick" refers to the property of being easy to release from strongly adhesive materials, meaning it either does not adhere or adheres with difficulty. For example, fluoropolymer resins excel in water and oil repellency, have a large contact angle, and possess a property of being difficult to wet due to their molecular structure. The measure of wettability, known as "critical surface tension (γc)," is extremely low for fluoropolymer resins, making them resistant to liquid adhesion and difficult to wet. Coatings that leverage such functions are effective for release applications, applications where adhesion needs to be minimized, and for simplifying cleaning. 【Selected Coatings (Partial)】 ■ Release properties, high hardness, dimensional stability (durable parts, molds) - Bi-Coat ■ Resin release at high temperatures - FSR Coating ■ Prevention of adhesion of high-viscosity materials - Adhesive Release Coating - CTT Fabric Sheet - MRS Coating (Silicone-based coating) *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Problem-solving during adhesive tape manufacturing! Super Coating Series

We introduce a coating that exhibits excellent non-adhesive properties to prevent sticking of sticky materials such as labels and adhesive tapes.

Adhesive tape often sticks to machines and other materials during the manufacturing process due to its nature. To prevent such issues, it is essential to employ coating technologies that exhibit non-adhesive properties, especially against sticky adhesives. By using appropriate coating technologies, the ease of handling materials on the production line can be significantly improved, contributing to the preservation of product quality. Introduction to Coating Technologies ■ Super TP and TP Series Composed entirely of fluororesin, these can be used in silicone-free environments. The use of fluororesin eliminates concerns about the transfer or contamination of silicone oil, and it is expected to improve non-adhesiveness by reducing contact area. ■ Super CTT Series This silicone-based series features excellent non-adhesiveness and slip resistance. Since it uses silicone, consideration must be given to the transfer to the counterpart material. ■ Super Alloy Coating Consisting of both fluorine and silicone types, it achieves a balance of flexibility and high hardness. Surface treatment of HV600 can also be applied to resins and sponge rubber, achieving high durability. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
