[Case Study of Weed Control Sheet] McLean Sheet® Near T-Junction

Case Study: Improvement of Intersection Visibility Using Asphalt-Based Weed Control Sheet "Maclean Sheet(R)"

◆Customer's Concerns◆ - There were complaints about poor visibility at the T-junction where the prefectural road and city road intersect due to overgrown weeds. Additionally, the poor visibility posed a risk of accidents. ◆Points for Sheet Selection◆ - We adopted the McLean sheet as it is "highly durable" and less likely to "curl up." - Since it is near an intersection, curling of the sheet could lead to accidents, so we used "Hurricane Net" at the edges of the sheet. - For the edges on the concrete part, we used concrete pins to secure it firmly, not just through welding. - We used "Weed Control Rubber Coating" near the utility poles to address weed issues from the edges. ◆Customer Feedback◆ - Even after one year, the weeds are well suppressed. - There has been no curling of the sheet due to wind, allowing for safe passage.

[Case Study of Weed Control Sheet] Take Guard Method - Underground Root Prevention 2

We will introduce examples of underground root prevention using the "Take Guard Method."

The bamboo guard method is a technique that suppresses the growth of bamboo (bamboo shoots) from above. However, in some cases, there may be a desire to suppress not only the surface but also the underground bamboo roots. In such cases, we recommend using a 2-meter wide bamboo guard sheet folded in half and installed in an L-shape both vertically and horizontally, referred to as "underground root prevention." In this particular case, the pathway facing the slope where bamboo is growing is not paved, which posed a risk of bamboo (bamboo shoots) emerging from the pathway if the underground rhizomes invaded. By adopting the underground and surface installation (L-shaped installation), we have ensured the pathway's safety and reduced the risk of fallen bamboo from the slope. *Excavation will require heavy machinery.

[Case Study of Weed Control Sheets] McLean Sheet® + Chigaya Sheet®

Case Study: Weed Prevention on Rough Asphalt

◆Customer Issues◆ - The edges of the asphalt sidewalk were uneven due to weeds growing through, narrowing the passageway. - Weeds growing on the slope next to the sidewalk were invading the sidewalk through the gaps in the fence, further narrowing the path. - I wanted to cover the asphalt areas where weeds were growing through with a weed control sheet from above, but I couldn't take measures because regular weed control sheets would deteriorate when stepped on by pedestrians. ◆Proposal/Construction Points◆ - We proposed using Chigaya Sheet (R) for the slope area and Maclean Sheet (R) for the asphalt part of the sidewalk. - By thermally welding the Maclean Sheet (R), we eliminated the lifting at the edges, reducing the risk of the sheet curling and tripping hazards for pedestrians. ◆Customer Feedback After Construction◆ - By using Maclean Sheet (R) for the sidewalk, we addressed the issue of weeds growing through the asphalt while allowing passage for pedestrians and bicycles, thus widening the path. - By combining Chigaya Sheet (R) instead of laying the entire area with Maclean Sheet (R), we were able to reduce costs.

[Case Study of Weed Control Sheet] McLain Sheet® + GU Sheet

Case Study: Weed Prevention on Rough Asphalt

◆Customer Issues◆ - The asphalt pavement at the edge of the sidewalk was rough, allowing weeds to flourish and obstructing passage. - Weeds were also growing from the gaps in the already installed weed control sheet on the slope, invading the sidewalk and hindering passage. ◆Construction Points◆ - Since the rough areas of the asphalt were about 0.5 meters wide, we adjusted the width by cutting the Makurain(R) sheet with scissors to fit the site. ◆Customer Feedback After Construction◆ - With the weeds in the asphalt pavement suppressed and the width of the path widened, it has become more comfortable for pedestrians and cyclists to pass. - Weeds were growing from the gaps in the slope, but this construction also addressed the gap issue, effectively suppressing the weeds on the slope. - The gray color blends well with the asphalt, enhancing the overall appearance.

[Case Study on Weed Control Sheets] ★Renewal★ Strong Grass Joint Sheet

Case Introduction: ★Renewal★ Strong Grass Joint Sheet

In the past, with the materials and methods used, when there were significant unevenness or height differences in the pavement joints, the strong grass joint sheet would float above the pavement. Additionally, it was difficult to adhere, resulting in poor workability. However, by changing the materials and methods this time, it has become applicable even to joints with unevenness and height differences. Furthermore, using a roller for pressing has improved workability. Previously, we used adhesives and sealing materials, but now it is possible to achieve both adhesion and sealing with just "Adhesive D-Touch." Additionally, the process of spreading the adhesive on the sheet with a notched trowel has been eliminated, leading to a reduction in tools and less mess when applying the sheet.

[Case Study of Weed Control Sheet] Chigaya Sheet(R) Around International Port Facilities

Case Study: Using Chigaya Sheet® for Weed Control as a Counter-Terrorism Measure Around International Port Facilities

◆Customer Concerns◆ - Around international port facilities, it is desirable to maintain a clear line of sight around the fence as a counter-terrorism measure, according to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations concerning the security of international port facilities. However, even after mowing, weeds quickly grow back, making it difficult to maintain visibility when weeds are overgrown, which is not favorable for the security of international port facilities. ◆Proposal Points◆ - By laying down a Chigaya sheet around the fence, visibility can be consistently improved, and long-term labor for mowing can be reduced. - To suppress weeds growing from the gaps between concrete curb blocks and pavement joints, the sheet was extended to the road-side pavement, secured with adhesive and asphalt pins. ◆Customer Feedback After Installation◆ - The areas where the sheet was laid have maintained good visibility without the need for mowing, allowing compliance with regulations. - We would like to continue using it.

[Case Study of Weed Control Sheet] Take Guard Method - Underground Root Prevention

We will introduce examples of underground root prevention using the "Take Guard Method."

The bamboo guard method is a technique that suppresses the growth of bamboo (bamboo shoots) from above. However, in some cases, there may be a desire to suppress not only the surface but also the underground bamboo roots. In such cases, we recommend installing a "subsurface root barrier" by folding a 2-meter wide bamboo guard sheet in half and setting it up in an L-shape both vertically and horizontally. The case we are introducing this time is based on a consultation we received stating, "Bamboo growing on the cliff along the river, which is public land, has invaded private land and is causing trouble, so we want to block not only the surface but also the underground roots." We proposed the bamboo guard method's subsurface root barrier. *Excavation will require heavy machinery.

Reasons for adopting Gripika: Significant reduction in maintenance costs and prevention of drain pipe clogs.

Reduces dirt adhesion even after cleaning! Furthermore, it avoids various risks caused by clogged drainage pipes.

We would like to introduce the reasons for adopting "Gripika," which we handle. Traditional grease trap cleaning only involves rinsing with water after removing the scum, which has the disadvantage of causing the grease trap to become dirty again quickly. On the other hand, with the saponification sanitation method, waste oil is converted into soapy water and flushed away, which reduces the adherence of dirt even after cleaning. This allows for a significant reduction in total maintenance costs compared to traditional methods. 【Features】 ■ Reduces dirt adherence after cleaning by converting waste oil into soapy water and flushing it away ■ Significantly reduces total maintenance costs compared to traditional methods ■ Prevents clogging of drainage pipes and avoids various risks associated with pipe blockages *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

[Reason for adopting Gripika] Waste liquid turns into soapy water, resulting in a shiny condition.

Waste liquid turns into soapy water! You can keep the "grease trap tank" in a sparkling condition.

We would like to introduce the reasons for adopting "Gripika," which we handle. By using a dedicated soap-based chemical agent to induce hydrolysis, it transforms "oil" into "soapy water" through a chemical reaction for cleaning purposes. As a result, it is possible to cleanly remove fats and sludge from inside the basket, which was difficult with conventional vacuum methods. 【Features】 ■ Discharges waste oil accumulated in the grease trap as soapy water ■ Capable of cleanly removing fats and sludge from inside the basket ■ Expected to have an effect in suppressing the occurrence of pathogenic bacteria and viruses *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

The mechanism of saponification sanitation method.

A technology that converts waste oil into soap and water for drainage! It allows for complete cleaning from the tank to the basket.

We would like to introduce the "Saponification Sanitation Method" that we are implementing. Using a portable pump, we suction the waste oil and water from the grease trap, mixing it with a dedicated saponification chemical to promote the "saponification reaction." As the oil is transformed into soapy water and continuously discharged back into the grease trap, eventually the interior of the grease trap will be filled solely with soapy water, allowing for the complete cleaning from the tank to the basket. [Features] ■ Technology that transforms waste oil into soapy water for drainage ■ Promotes the "saponification reaction" to convert oil into soapy water ■ Capable of cleaning completely from the tank to the basket *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

【Weed Control Sheet Failure Cases】 Learning from Failures to Choose the Optimal Materials

We will introduce auxiliary materials that enhance weed prevention effects to resolve the issue of "This shouldn't be happening..."

In the failure case we are introducing, I believe that simply adding one material would have resulted in a completely different outcome. Please select the optimal materials to suppress weeds over a long period. 【Case 1】Weeds from the edge of the concrete When the sheet's edge is fixed only with pins, gaps will appear. By using 'Sealing Material Attach' or 'Adhesive Uretach' in this area, you can prevent weed growth from the edges. 【Case 2】Weeds from the overlapping parts of the weed control sheet Although the sheets are overlapped by more than 10 cm, there are gaps between the pins. By using 'Adhesive Tape' in this area, you can effectively seal the gaps. 【Case 3】Weeds from the vicinity of structures Around structures, the weed control sheet should be cut for installation. Please use 'Adhesive Tape' on the cut parts and 'Weed Control Rubber Coat' at the edges of the structures. 【Case 4】Weeds from the pin installation area Please use 'Adhesive Tape (Slit Type)' in the pin installation area. It is important to apply pressure firmly when attaching it; otherwise, weeds may emerge from the lifted parts of the seal, so caution is necessary.

[Case Study by Issue] Measures Against Uplifting of Weed Control Sheets by Snow Plows

Have the edges of the weed control sheet ever been torn and frayed by the bucket or tires of a snow plow?

As a measure against weeds, weed control sheets are utilized in various locations. In particular, the sides of roads are one of the places where weed control sheets are often used, as overgrown weeds can obstruct the view of drivers and pedestrians, creating a danger. In areas with snowfall, when introducing weed control sheets along the roadside, there can be issues such as snowplow buckets snagging the edges of the sheets or tires catching the edges, causing the sheets to tear and become damaged. As a countermeasure, one method is to lay down the weed control sheets before asphalt paving and cover the edges of the sheets with asphalt during the paving process. This is an example of using polyester weed control sheets, taking advantage of the property that polyester has a higher melting point than asphalt (approximately 260°C). *For detailed construction methods, please contact our company.

[Case Study of Weed Control Sheet] GU Sheet Residential and Slope Along Waterway

Case Study: Weed Control Measures for Slopes Using the 20-Year Durable Weed Barrier Sheet "GU Sheet"

◆Customer's Concerns◆ The slope next to the waterway. Since it faces residential areas and fields, regular grass cutting was performed. In some places, there were areas surrounded by fences or with steep inclines, making the work dangerous. In areas right next to the waterway, care was taken to ensure that the cut grass did not fall into the water, which made the work more labor-intensive. ◆Customer Feedback During Construction◆ - The sheet was soft and conformed to the uneven ground, making installation easier. It was also easier to handle the setup of structures like concrete. - There were markers indicating where to place the pins, which shortened the work time.
