Corrosion applications using potentiostat/galvanostat

Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are one of the most researched energy storage devices due to their relatively high energy levels and excellent power performance. During charging, lithium ions are moved from the positive electrode to the negative electrode through the electrolyte. During discharging, lithium ions move in the opposite direction, from the negative electrode to the positive electrode. At the electrode surface, the diffusion of Li-ions into the bulk occurs. Here, the performance of Li-ion batteries largely depends on the diffusion coefficient of the active materials present in the electrodes. Therefore, knowing the chemical diffusion coefficient of the electrode materials is very important. Additionally, understanding the thermodynamic properties of the electrode materials provides a more detailed insight into their electrochemical behavior.

During the charging and discharging of lithium-ion batteries (Li-ion batteries), lithium ions are transported from one electrode through the electrolyte to the other electrode. Knowing the chemical diffusion coefficient of the electrode materials is very important. The difference between the toxicity of selenium and its essential level is very subtle. Therefore, the current provisional guideline value for selenium (IV) in the World Health Organization's "Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality" and the European Drinking Water Directive is set at a maximum concentration of 10 μg/L.
