Lathe Processing × Urgent Response Case │ Spherical R-Shaped Parts for Automotive Advanced Development

Processing examples of A7075 on NC lathes and 5-axis machining centers. Manufactured for the automotive, motorcycle, and transportation equipment industries. Achieving short delivery times and low prices with spherical R shapes.

<Case Information> Within three weeks, a spherical R-shaped component for automotive advanced development was needed. Although it was expected to take about four weeks for the usual delivery of shaped processed products, it was completed in two weeks. Due to the undercut of the spherical R-shaped part (the backside viewed from the top, which is the shaded area), it could not be processed with commercially available tools. We would like to introduce a processing example of an "aluminum round chamber" incorporated into semiconductor manufacturing equipment and vacuum deposition devices. The processing method involves machining from A7075 aluminum alloy through complete cutting, with a product size of φ450×300mm. As a prototype project for electric vehicle motor development, we would like to introduce a machining case of an aluminum motor bracket. This is a complete machining of A6063 aluminum alloy, with dimensions of φ350×200mm. Since it is not a simple round shape, we organized the process using NC lathes and machining centers, and ultimately used a fixture to perform the machining of M30×1.5 fine thread screws located on the back side with an NC lathe. We would like to introduce a case study of the prototype machining project for an industrial motor frame. **Overview** - Machining method and process: Medium-sized NC lathe and medium-sized 5-axis machining center - Product size: 450×450×150 - Material: S50C **Case Information** We utilized a medium-sized 5-axis machining center and NC lathe to achieve high-precision machining with geometric tolerance requirements of 0.010mm order. Gas cutting was performed on S50C plate material, and machining began from a cut-out state of the plate to approximate the product shape. During the determination of the manufacturing process, we used 3D CAD to simulate how to finish in the shortest time possible, resulting in a reduction of processes.
