On August 3, 2020, the European Commission announced the addition of diisocyanates (abbreviated as MDI) to the list of restricted substances (REACH Entry 74). As a result, starting from August 24, 2023, in Europe, it will be necessary to use adhesives with an MDI concentration of less than 0.1% or to comply with REACH regulations when using adhesives containing 0.1% or more MDI. This is an olefin-based adhesive that can bond difficult materials such as PP resin without any surface treatment. It is equipped with a hot melt function that allows for immediate progression to secondary processes without waiting for the initial curing of the adhesive, achieving a stronger bond with heat resistance through continued moisture curing after the initial hot melt function. While it has a hot melt function, it can be applied to substrates at a lower melting temperature compared to PP and PO-based hot melts, and it possesses high heat and cold resistance due to curing through cross-linking reactions, making it an extremely reliable adhesive that can keep up with the speed of mass production lines.
