ValiGate(R) is a counterfeit detection system that uses a uniquely developed special printing pattern in QR codes. It can be utilized not only for counterfeit prevention but also for detecting unauthorized distribution and for promotional purposes. The two main features of ValiGate(R) are as follows: 1) The ValiGate(R) QR code contains an encrypted code created using proprietary technology. This encrypted code is decrypted during the authentication process using a unique algorithm. If a QR code that has been duplicated by a copier is authenticated, a warning will be issued to the user during the authentication process. In other words, while the QR code itself can be copied, the original functionality of ValiGate(R) cannot be replicated. 2) There is no need for a dedicated app for authentication. Users can read the QR code using their smartphone camera app and proceed with the authentication process. This system allows general consumers and corporate users to easily determine authenticity. DISTORUN(R) is a compact cold foil transfer unit designed for installation on the rail system of flexographic printing machines. This unit operates independently and does not require integration with the control system of the flexographic printing machine. By reading the printing speed of the flexographic printing machine with the rotary encoder of DISTORUN(R), it enables foil transfer that follows the printed substrate. The timing of the foil feed is controlled by DISTORUN(R), allowing a single-pattern hologram to be transferred to any desired location. The DISTORUN(R) module is equipped with state-of-the-art servo control technology and a software program capable of precise positioning control on the foil feed side. Sensors detect marks on both the transfer foil and the printing cylinder, allowing for accurate alignment. During cold foil transfer, there may be areas where the foil material is left unused depending on the printing layout. With the DISTORUN(R) module, it is possible to realign the foil that has been used and wound up to the areas where foil remains, allowing for its reuse. This means that transfer foil, which was previously discarded after one use, can now be utilized fully, contributing to environmental measures and cost reduction.

KURZ's environmentally friendly cold transfer foil for offset printing machines, KURZ KPS slim (patent pending), is a new product that reduces the thickness of the PET carrier film from the conventional 12μm to 6μm. Since it allows for longer supply lengths than conventional products, it helps reduce the frequency of foil changes and improves operational efficiency in processing sites. The halving of the PET carrier film usage also reduces the amount of waste from the used transfer carrier film, contributing to a decrease in CO2 emissions associated with transportation. Not only does it benefit the environment, but compared to conventional products, it also improves the brightness of solid areas and delivers excellent results in gradient expression and fine edge finishing.
