We have started the operation of the lab equipment "CL-8 (manufactured by Okawara Kako Ki)" that can safely spray-dry organic solvent-based liquids under a nitrogen gas flow! The specifications of the device indicate an ethanol evaporation rate of 4 kg/h at a hot air temperature of 140°C. While there is a strong demand for organic solvents, there are extremely limited places where testing, the first step in production, can be conducted, leading to difficulties in development. We have received feedback regarding this issue through inquiries on our website and during exhibitions every year. To respond to this persistent need, we will begin operations in late January 2025. 【Solving these challenges and concerns】 ■ We want to safely dry raw materials that cannot be processed with water-based methods. ■ We lack spray-drying equipment and know-how, making testing and prototyping impossible. ■ We want to test what kind of powders can be produced with a spray dryer in small quantities. We are anticipating drying and granulating non-aqueous ceramics (such as aluminum nitride and silicon carbide), battery materials, resins, etc., but we will accept a wide range of materials and applications without imposing strict limitations. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationBased on the feedback from the lab equipment, we have introduced a two-fluid nozzle for medium-scale machines to produce granulated powder with an average particle diameter of 5 to 20 μm in March 2024. Since the introduction of the two-fluid nozzle spraying mechanism for fine particle production testing in December 2022, we have received positive feedback from customers over the past year, and considering the requests for scale-up based on those results, we have also implemented the two-fluid nozzle spraying mechanism for medium-scale machines (Okawara OC-16 model). The installation was completed in March 2024, and after trial runs and internal testing, we plan to begin operations around May 2024. There is a strong demand for fine particles, but the places capable of conducting granulation tests and pilot production using spray dryers are extremely limited. We are committed to advancing the early establishment and operation of our facilities and technologies to contribute as a solution provider. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registration"Spray drying" is a technology that instantly dries a liquid by spraying it in a drying chamber to create fine droplets, utilizing the surface tension of water to produce spherical, flowable granules. We have now begun tests for spray drying and fine particle granule production using a two-fluid nozzle. The two-fluid nozzle creates fine mist-like droplets by simultaneously spraying compressed air and the liquid to be dried. Like other spraying methods such as disk and pressurized nozzles, it can produce spherical dried granules. A significant feature of the two-fluid nozzle is its ability to create granules with an average particle diameter of less than 10 μm. *We also support tests and production using conventional disk spraying! 【Other Topics】 <Relocation of Spray Dryer to Fukui Factory> The "OC-16 (Okawahara)" has been relocated from Osaka and is now operational! We will strengthen our efforts in producing a wide variety of small and medium quantities to reliably meet the increasing demand! <Contract Testing for Spray-Dried Powder> Please fill out the survey from the PDF download and contact us via email, and we will promptly provide you with a cost estimate for the tests. If you are in a hurry, you can also call us! *For more details, please download the materials or contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce our "Powdered Fragrance." Using a homomixer, we disperse cyclodextrin and prepare a water-dispersible solution that encapsulates fragrance oil, which is then dried to produce powdered form using a spray dryer. By utilizing the encapsulation effect and sustained release properties of cyclodextrin, we can maintain the fragrance. This also allows for applications that were not possible with liquid fragrances. 【Features】 ■ Dispersing cyclodextrin using a homomixer ■ Preparing a water-dispersible solution that encapsulates fragrance oil and producing dried powder using a spray dryer ■ Utilizing the encapsulation effect and sustained release properties of cyclodextrin to maintain the fragrance ■ Enabling applications that were not possible with liquid fragrances *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationAt Nichika Chemical Co., Ltd., we manufacture small quantities of a wide variety of ceramic granules for press molding. We can handle production from several dozen kilograms to several tons using medium-sized machines and mass production equipment. We can also take on tasks from ball mill mixing. In the past, we faced challenges such as "we manufacture in-house but have dedicated machines that do not allow for diversification" and "we can develop prototypes in small quantities but lack equipment for mass production." Our company can provide a one-stop service from slurry preparation with a nylon barrel mill to drying granulation with a spray dryer (SD) and screening classification. Customers only need to prepare the raw powder and additives. 【Benefits】 ■ Quick diversification into a wide variety of products without incurring additional equipment costs ■ We have spray dryer testing machines and small mills for rapid development *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationOur company utilizes the inclusion properties of cyclodextrin and, in collaboration with spray-drying technology, is able to microencapsulate liquids into powders. Until now, there have been challenges in adding liquid compounds to powders or resins to impart functionality, often due to poor mixing or incompatibility. As a solution, we prepare a slurry by encapsulating the liquid in cyclodextrin (CD) in water, and then dry it using a spray dryer (SD) to achieve powder form in a single process. This method allows heat-sensitive liquids, such as fragrances, to retain their aromatic components through the inclusion properties of CD and the low-temperature drying of SD. 【Benefits】 - Easier mixing and dispersion by adding a solid (powder) instead of a liquid - Expanded application range due to solidification - Capable of handling cyclodextrin inclusion (homogeneous mixer processing) - Small-scale testing is also possible *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registration"Spray drying" is a technology that instantly dries a liquid by spraying it in a drying chamber to create fine droplets, utilizing the surface tension of water to produce spherical, highly flowable granules. In a spray dryer, slurry is directly pumped into the drying chamber and atomized, allowing for the stable production of granules with an average size of around 50μm in a single process. This method stabilizes moisture, particle size, and bulk density, while also reducing dust generation. Additionally, it is possible to microencapsulate liquids using the inclusion effect of cyclodextrin, turning them into powder. [Features] - Spherical and highly flowable, making handling easy and reducing dust generation. - Short drying time allows for the drying of heat-sensitive raw materials. - By preparing a slurry with cyclodextrin (CD) encapsulating the liquid in water and drying it with a spray dryer (SD), powder can be produced in a single process. - Heat-sensitive liquids, such as fragrances, can retain their aromatic components through the inclusion effect of CD and the low-temperature drying of SD. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationSpray drying is a technology that involves spraying a liquid and rapidly drying it with hot air to obtain spherical particles. In the press molding of fine ceramics products, the granulation of ceramic materials through spray drying is an important process, along with slurry preparation, to stabilize the following factors: ● Flowability (flowability improves with granulation) ● Bulk density (the amount and density of filling in the mold become consistent) ● Uniformity (the formulation during slurry preparation and the uniform mixing of composite materials (ball milling)) Our company can accommodate from lab test levels (a few liters of slurry) to mass production (ton-level granules). We can also measure particle size distribution, bulk density, and moisture content. Particle size distribution can be handled in both dry and wet methods. Microscopic photography of granules is possible using an optical microscope and a digital camera. For slurry preparation, we can handle ball milling from 80L to 600L (with urethane or nylon lining). We can also assist in selecting binders and dispersants. (We do not accept molding, firing, or sintering services.) *For more details, please download the materials or contact us.
