Additionally, the 846 features a thin membrane (burst membrane) that bursts when excessive pressure is applied between the wiper and the rod, preventing the wiper from popping out. When the pressure is released, the membrane closes again, preventing external contamination. Therefore, there is no need for an expensive drain port.
