From the entire mountain, made of green tuff, Yakushi Mori (Mountain), we extract 1,000 tons of natural Towada stone annually and consistently handle processing by skilled craftsmen. The "Towada stone," confirmed only in this place in the world. Not limited to its use as conventional building stone, recent research has revealed many excellent functions, and as an environmental stone material, it is expected to thrive and have a significant impact in many areas. Nakano Sangyo, along with Towada stone, is committed to development, not only as a building stone but also recognized as a soil improvement material, fulfilling its mission as an environmentally functional stone material. Business Activities
The only place where "Towada stone" has been confirmed to be buried is in Yakushimori (mountain) in Hinaimachi, Akita Prefecture, which is entirely made of Towada stone. Its origin dates back ten million years… formed from volcanic ash that solidified due to an eruption that occurred on the ocean floor, its official name is "green tuff." Beyond being a building material, it has recently been revealed to have many excellent functions as a soil improvement material and environmental stone. Among stones, it is particularly soft and does not slip easily when wet, which has led to its use in hot spring areas and bathing facilities since ancient times. Recent research has discovered numerous excellent functions, leading it to be referred to as a "magical stone" or "miracle stone." Towada stone's functions have been clarified through various studies. It is attracting attention from various fields, and its use as an environmental stone is expanding significantly. Towada stone produces no waste. After cutting, the leftover pieces are finely crushed, and the grains produced during stone carving and the mud collected during polishing are dried into powder. After various processing, it is used in a wide range of fields and applications.
