This will include detailed explanations of aspects related to the "Implementation of Comprehensive Management Plans for Public Facilities," "Promotion of PPP/PFI," and "Utilization of PRE," which are being advanced nationwide. Increase in demand due to generative AI: Hyperscalers occupying new demand and addressing power issues.

We will hold a seminar titled "Latest Trends in the Data Center Market and Strategies for Related Businesses." The global data center market is steadily expanding, partly due to increased demand driven by generative AI. This is prompting the industry to reconsider power sources and the locations of data centers in various countries and regions. Of course, sustainability and the use of renewable energy are also challenges. We will report on these latest trends and provide detailed explanations of the strategies that related businesses should adopt. [Seminar] Rock Weathering Acceleration Technology for the Negative Emission Market

NEDO Moonshot Goal 4 A-ERW Project Technology Trends Carbon Accounting

Our company will hold a seminar on "Rock Weathering Acceleration Technology for the Negative Emission Market." There are only a quarter of a century left until the target year of 2050 for achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. It is extremely difficult to offset CO2 emissions from hard-to-decarbonize sectors solely through the large-scale introduction of renewable energy; negative emission technologies (NETs) are essential for this purpose. One of the technologies for directly removing CO2 that has been released into the atmosphere is weathering acceleration (ERW), which is expected to be implemented in Japan due to its relatively low water and land use compared to other technologies, as well as the widespread distribution of natural rocks containing Ca/Mg within the country. This seminar will elaborate on the technological trends both domestically and internationally, focusing on the A-ERW project currently being implemented as part of the Moonshot Goal 4, as well as the methodologies for measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) that are essential for clear carbon accounting and crediting. [Seminar Details] ■ Date and Time: October 8 (Tuesday) 13:30 - 15:30 (Doors open at 13:00) ■ Speaker: Professor Takao Nakagaki, Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Creative Science and Engineering, Waseda University *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Hydropower, which has a long history, is an important power source as a renewable energy that utilizes the natural blessing of water, excelling in supply stability, economic efficiency, and environmental sustainability, as well as contributing to energy security. As we move towards realizing a carbon-neutral society by 2050, the importance of existing hydropower facilities is increasing. However, many hydropower plants are located in mountainous and remote areas, facing challenges such as the proper maintenance and operation of aging facilities, securing personnel for the business, and adapting to diverse working styles. In pursuit of Kansai Electric Power's goal of "creating a sustainable future for society and business," we will discuss the shape of next-generation hydropower from three perspectives: "people (working styles)," "facilities," and "connections with society," detailing our initiative "Beyond 150," which aims to pass the baton of hydropower business to the next generation. 【Seminar Details】 ■ Date and Time: September 26 (Thursday) 9:30-11:30 (Doors open at 9:00) ■ Speaker: Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. Chief Manager, Renewable Energy Business Division Mr. Kazuki Yamamoto *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
