Our company will hold a seminar on "Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei's efforts towards truly sustainable urban development." Our company will hold a seminar on "Recent Regulatory Trends in Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)." Medical devices are regulated in their manufacturing and sales under the "Act on Securing Quality, Efficacy and Safety of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices." Since 2014, standalone software intended for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases has also been subject to regulation as medical devices, leading to many software medical devices receiving manufacturing and sales approvals. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare aims to further practical use and international expansion of software medical devices and published the "Package Strategy for Promoting Practical Use of Software Medical Devices 2 (commonly known as 'DASH for SaMD2')" in September 2023 in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Autonomous driving is expected to play a significant role in solving various social issues faced by our country, such as reducing traffic accidents, maintaining and improving public transportation, and addressing the shortage of drivers. In May of last year, the first level 4 autonomous driving mobility service without a driver was launched in Eiheiji Town, Fukui Prefecture. Our company will hold a seminar on "Logistics 2024 Problem and Specific Measures for Logistics Innovation." Logistics is a social infrastructure that supports the economy and people's lives, but truck drivers, who play a key role, face long working hours, low income, and a significant labor shortage. Amidst this situation, regulations on overtime work for drivers were introduced in April this year, raising concerns about further stagnation in logistics due to labor shortages. Estimates suggest a 14% shortage this year and a 34% shortage by 2030. In response to this "Logistics 2024 Problem," the government compiled a "Policy Package for Logistics Innovation" in June last year, and is comprehensively and integratively working together with the industry and the public to review business practices, improve logistics efficiency, and promote behavioral changes among shippers and consumers.
