Free membership registrationOur company will hold a seminar titled "Current Status of Walkable City Development in Shibuya Ward." In the area around Shibuya Station, a large-scale redevelopment, touted as a once-in-a-century project, is underway. The concept for this development in Shibuya began around the year 2000, just before the underground construction of the Tokyu Toyoko Line and the mutual direct operation with the Fukutoshin Line. Active discussions took place among scholars, railway operators, government officials, and local residents, leading to the formulation of the initial plan, "Guide Plan 21," in 2003, and it has been over 20 years since then. In the past decade, high-rise buildings have been completed one after another due to redevelopment, visibly changing Shibuya day by day. This time, we will focus not only on building projects but also on Shibuya's urban development aimed at creating a "human-centered" and "walkable" city, detailing how Shibuya will transform in the future. Free membership registrationWe will hold a seminar on "The Current State of Domestic and International Water Business and Specific Examples." The overseas water business is expected to present a significant business opportunity, exceeding 150 trillion yen by 2050 due to population growth and industrial advancement, particularly in areas such as water supply and sewage services. The market for water treatment equipment is anticipated to grow at an average annual rate of 6%. On the other hand, the domestic water business market is facing a challenging situation with declining revenue from water fees due to population decrease and advancements in water-saving devices. However, a major business opportunity has arisen. For the past 63 years, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has overseen the water supply business, but starting in April of this year, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will take over this role, leading to the integration of water administration, including water resource management, water rights, river administration, and national resilience related to water. The integration of water supply and sewage services, the broadening of water administration, public-private partnerships, and technological development represent significant upcoming business opportunities. This will be explained in detail based on specific examples. ■ Date and Time: August 30 (Friday) 13:30-15:30 (Doors open at 13:00) ■ Speaker: Kazunobu Yoshimura, Representative of Global Water Japan UN Technical Advisor Chair of the Water Security Strategy Organization and Technology Promotion Committee *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationOur company will hold a seminar titled "Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry: Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships in Industrial Water Supply Projects and Future Directions." Industrial water, often referred to as the lifeblood of industry, has played a significant role in the development of Japan's industry and the advancement of regional economies as an essential component of corporate production activities. As industrial water supply operators are required to respond to aging infrastructure and the increasing frequency and severity of disasters, there is a pressing need for resilience towards a stable and abundant supply. However, the business environment is becoming increasingly challenging due to a decrease in demand caused by changes in industrial structure, rising operational costs, and a shortage of staff. To achieve a sustainable industrial water supply business, "public-private partnerships," where industrial water supply operators utilize private sector know-how, will be a key factor. This seminar will provide a detailed explanation of the current initiatives and future directions of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, including the introduction of new public-private partnership methods in the water sector. [Seminar Details] ■ Date and Time: August 29 (Thursday) 13:30 - 15:30 (Doors open at 13:00) ■ Speaker: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Regional Economic Industry Group, Regional Industrial Infrastructure Development Division Industrial Water Supply Planning Officer Mr. Kosuke Yumura *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationOur company will hold a seminar titled "Trends in Chemical Recycling of Waste Plastics and Business Outlook." Recycling of waste plastics has begun globally. However, plastic recycling in Japan is still extremely limited. In Europe, the use of waste plastics has been mandated. Material recycling can also be achieved through chemical methods. For mixed plastics and composite plastics, which are difficult to recycle materially, liquefaction for chemical recycling as naphtha feedstock is the most practical approach. This has already begun to be implemented worldwide. Furthermore, waste plastics mixed with municipal waste can also be gasified and recycled into plastics. We will provide a detailed explanation of these technologies and trends. Free membership registrationWe will hold a seminar on "Achieving Battery Traceability in the Automotive Industry." As regulations, including European battery regulations, become stricter in pursuit of carbon neutrality, the automotive industry is required to achieve battery traceability. To realize traceability, it is necessary to fulfill functions from data collection to utilization, which cannot be achieved solely by OEMs and suppliers; collaboration with IT companies and T&T players is essential. Furthermore, the benefits of achieving traceability are not limited to compliance with laws such as battery passports (defensive area). It is essential for the automotive industry to pursue new business opportunities (offensive area), and a data management system that considers both offensive and defensive aspects is required. Free membership registrationOur company will hold a seminar titled "Akita Prefecture's New Challenge Towards Sustainable Sewerage Management." In Japan, a leading country in population decline, Akita Prefecture is experiencing the fastest rate of population decrease and aging in the nation. As a pioneering prefecture in addressing these issues, it promotes the "functional integration" of the prefecture and municipalities through innovative approaches. In the field of wastewater treatment, under the leadership of the prefecture, collaboration with municipalities is advancing the regionalization and joint processing of sludge treatment and the consolidation of treatment facilities to improve operational efficiency. Amidst a shortage of technical personnel, the prefecture, municipalities, and private companies are collaborating to establish new complementary organizations, attracting national attention and receiving high praise from the government as the "Akita Model." Furthermore, as part of efforts towards a decarbonized society, the ongoing construction of a microgrid that uses sewage treatment plants as renewable energy supply bases is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country. This seminar will provide detailed explanations of the "Akita Model" initiatives that challenge the declining population society and their future direction. 【Seminar Details】 ■ Date and Time: August 26 (Monday) 13:30-15:30 (Doors open at 13:00) ■ Speaker: Akita Prefecture Construction Department, Sewerage Management Promotion Division, Policy Supervisor Mr. Satoshi Kumagai *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
