Our company will hold a seminar titled "Fujishi: Initiatives for Water PPP Introduction in Sewerage Projects." In the revised PPP/PFI Promotion Action Plan of 2023, Water PPP, a new public-private partnership method, is defined, and regarding national funding support for the reconstruction of sewage pipes, the introduction of this Water PPP will be required from fiscal year 2027, with some exceptions. As a result, municipalities responsible for many sewerage projects need to accelerate their consideration of Water PPP introduction. However, they are currently struggling to address aging infrastructure, disaster response, and efforts toward decarbonization, all while managing limited budgets and personnel. Our city plans to introduce Water PPP in fiscal year 2025, aiming to address the aforementioned challenges as well. In the area around Shibuya Station, a large-scale redevelopment, touted as a once-in-a-century project, is underway. The concept for this development in Shibuya began around the year 2000, just before the underground construction of the Tokyu Toyoko Line and the mutual direct operation with the Fukutoshin Line. Active discussions took place among scholars, railway operators, government officials, and local residents, leading to the formulation of the initial plan, "Guide Plan 21," in 2003, and it has been over 20 years since then. The overseas water business is expected to present a significant business opportunity, exceeding 150 trillion yen by 2050 due to population growth and industrial advancement, particularly in areas such as water supply and sewage services. Our company will hold a seminar titled "Data Center Business Accelerating Rapidly with Generative AI/LLM." The data center business has been globalizing and scaling up alongside the advancement of cloud business, but the emergence of generative AI/LLM, represented by ChatGPT, has caused its business scale to accelerate and expand rapidly. The Japanese government has also announced a strategy to support Japan as a global infrastructure hub by expanding data center locations to Hokkaido and Kyushu, following Kanto and Kansai.
