As of October 17, 2023, the EU is restricting the introduction of products containing intentionally added microplastics (synthetic polymer particles) into the EU market, establishing a phased transition period for specific applications and product groups. Measures are being implemented to prevent the release of microplastics, requiring the removal or reformulation of these polymers, or the implementation of effective containment measures.
