Due to its high reactivity, it can form a dense and uniform crosslinking within rubber, enhancing the tensile strength of the rubber. "IC Zinc" is a wetting agent that can be used on peaches and nectarines. Zinc ions have a bactericidal effect by penetrating the bodies of pathogens and inhibiting their enzymatic systems, while zinc oxide generates reactive oxygen species when exposed to ultraviolet light, which powerfully decomposes pathogens through a photocatalytic action. The bactericidal action is primarily due to metal ions, similar to copper agents, and the risk of developing resistant bacteria is extremely low.
