An example of an application requiring a 90° mounting option for the housing is magnetic level gauges (MLG) that have flanges at both the top and bottom. In MLGs with flanges at both ends, the electronic housing is limited to mounting on the upper flange, which reduces the measurement range of the level transmitter installed on the MLG. By using a housing that can be mounted in an L-shape, it is possible to install it away from the MLG.
