The revision of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Notification No. 261 of 2003, scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2026, has reviewed the testing methods in water quality testing for tap water, taking into account advancements in analytical technology. Among these, a simultaneous analysis method for metals combining Continuous Flow Analysis (CFA) and ICP-MS has been included in the notification, enabling the automation of multi-element analysis that includes mercury. In this webinar, we will organize the background and overview of the revision, and explain the concepts and operational points of simultaneous analysis of mercury-containing metals using CFA-ICP-MS. We will also introduce practical tips that should be noted on-site, such as pretreatment conditions and quality control considerations. Additionally, we will share analysis tips using Agilent's ICP-MS. We sincerely look forward to your participation.
