Starmix Nova

For mold optimization

To manufacture high-performance components at low cost, it is necessary to use segregation-resistant powders with high apparent density and excellent flowability. In particular, for long and complex-shaped components, the powder must have a high apparent density and be capable of uniform filling in the mold. Starmix Nova has a high apparent density, excellent flowability and lubricity, and also high compressibility, which improves molding efficiency. As a result, it becomes possible to consistently provide higher quality products.

Safe and high-efficiency powder cutting and gas cutting applications.

Our powder, with a well-managed particle size distribution, achieves high-efficiency cutting.

Powder cutting is a term used in the metallurgical industry that refers to various types of flame treatment methods for high alloys and refractory materials. In a normal oxygen-fuel flame, it is not possible to obtain sufficient heat to cut materials like stainless steel due to the formation of heat-resistant slag. In powder cutting, by adding iron powder to the flame, a more than double effect can be achieved. By burning (oxidizing) the iron powder, the heat generated for cutting is increased, and additionally, the heat-resistant slag is diluted by the oxidized iron powder, lowering the slag melting temperature. This allows the slag to become fluid, making it easier to remove with the oxygen stream.
