The ADLINK PCIe-8338 is a hardware-based EtherCAT motion controller that can simultaneously support up to 64 synchronized axes and 10,000 points. The PCIe-8338 features not only general-purpose sensor inputs but also independent emergency stop inputs (EMG) with an input frequency of up to 1 MHz, as well as configurable isolated high-speed digital inputs. To optimize synchronized I/O performance for vertical automation applications such as semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, it provides optimal jitter control with a minimum cycle of 250 μs. The PCIe-8338 offers an Application Programming Interface (API) function library for generating multidimensional, highly synchronized, time-deterministic event-triggered motion and I/O control. The ADLINK MotionCreatorPro 2 utility is fully compliant with the Microsoft Windows environment and allows for the configuration and functional evaluation of EtherCAT motion and I/O, as well as the compilation of program download functions.
