The setting of the burst pressure is a very important point for rupture disks, but how should one decide on the pressure to set? From a safety perspective, it is desirable to set the pressure that causes the rupture disk to burst as low as possible. On the other hand, it is generally more effective for the lifespan of the product to set the operating pressure higher, creating a larger difference from the set pressure. Therefore, considering the difference between the burst pressure and the operating pressure, as well as the allowable tolerance of the rupture disk, the specific pressure is determined based on the design pressure of the container in which it will be installed. The performance verification of a rupture disk begins with the actual production of the rupture disk and its rupture. We empirically select materials with a plate thickness that meets the specifications, and then process that material into various forms, such as forming it into a dome, adding grooves, or making through-cuts. We then test the manufactured rupture disk by rupturing it to confirm whether it meets the specifications (performance).
