■Company History Our company was founded in 1955 as a manufacturer of carbon for machinery, known as the Carbon Research Institute. After developing precise carbon and mechanical seals, we created porous carbon with fine and uniform pores, and we offer a variety of products primarily for applications in "levitating transport." ■We can solve the following problems: 1. The workpiece is too thin to be transported effectively. ⇒ We need products that can handle delicate workpieces. 2. Scratches occur due to contact during transport. ⇒ We need products that can transport without damaging the workpiece. 3. Wear on the transport surface and drive components leads to increased hassle. ⇒ We want to reduce maintenance costs. ■Features of Porous Carbon It is a porous carbon with fine and uniform pores. By allowing air to flow through the porous structure, a strong fluid film can be formed. This fluid film can levitate films and other materials, enabling the gentle and damage-free transport of delicate workpieces. As workpieces become more high-functioning, there is a growing demand for thinner and more delicate transport, making this material a true next-generation solution for levitating transport.
Business Activities
■Roll Conveyance (Web Handling) We manufacture a product called the air bearing roll, designed for web handling. This floating conveyance roll is suitable for increasingly high-performance, thin, and delicate webs. It not only prevents scratches and wrinkles but also allows the web to float with high stability. We also offer suction rolls for adhesive conveyance, optimized with porous carbon for suction applications, allowing for high grip to adhere and transport the web. For more details, please refer to the product page. ■Flat Conveyance We produce conveyance units for FPD glass, including air bearing bars and non-contact chucking. These units can stably transport larger and thinner FPD glass. Additionally, by combining negative and positive pressure, we enable high-precision floating with an accuracy of ±5μm, and can also achieve transfers of more than 10mm, which is difficult with standard floating methods.
