The founder, Kenzo Takahashi, established D-Mag Co., Ltd. in 1990 after serving as a lead engineer at Mitsubishi Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Japan Eliz Magnetics Co., Ltd. He is well-known as a specialist in practical applications of magnetic technology for industrial uses, having developed and commercialized numerous innovative magnetic application technologies, including non-ferrous metal sorting machines that utilize eddy currents. Currently, the method of sorting and recovering non-ferrous metals from mixtures using eddy currents has become a global de facto standard. Additionally, he has also provided key technologies for the development of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) using permanent magnets.

Developed a permanent magnet MagPump. Replacing conventional mechanical pumps reduces running costs!

In 2022, we released the MagPump. We conducted test installations at overseas customer sites in advance, so please refer to the footage and promotional video from that time. What is MagPump? Conventional mechanical pumps have been using physical impellers to stir and circulate molten metal, but due to the impeller's contact with aluminum molten metal, failures and replacement work occurred quite frequently. MagPump replaces the physical impeller with a virtual impeller created by a magnetic circuit, eliminating contact between the rotating body and the molten metal, which significantly reduces downtime caused by failures, damage, and associated replacement work. Additionally, it is manufactured in a size comparable to conventional mechanical pumps, allowing for easy installation without the burden of major modifications to the furnace side.
