Free membership registrationWhen it comes to ultrasonic cleaning of wires, the product wire (bobbin) is immersed in a bathtub equipped with an ultrasonic cleaning machine filled with cleaning solution, and it is either left for a period of time or mechanically vibrated for cleaning. However, it is quite difficult to remove the lubricating oil and dirt that are stuck between the wires. The Heelscher wire cleaning device features a special sonotrode (resonator) of 400 mm with holes of appropriate diameter for the wire size, shaped like a cylinder, through which cleaning solution flows, allowing the wire or cable to pass through and run. Inside that cylinder, countless cavitations generated by powerful ultrasound occur, removing lubricating oil and dirt adhered to the surface of the wire or tape. These cavitations form a jet stream of 400 m/h in the small area within the cylindrical shape, stripping away unwanted residual lubricating oil and impurities from the surface of the wire flowing in the line. Compared to ultrasonic baths, the cavitation density in the solution is over 1000 times greater, allowing for efficient cleaning in a short time.

However, ultrasonic extraction must be powerful to be successful, and Heelscher ultrasound generates high output and low frequency, producing intense cavitation. It moves energetically through the liquid in a slurry made of plant materials in the solvent, where extreme temperatures, pressures, heating/cooling rates, and pressure differentials create locally intense shock waves. When cavitation bubbles collapse on the surface of solids (particles, plant cells, tissues, etc.), micro-jets and partial collisions generate effects such as surface peeling, erosion, particle destruction, sonoporation (penetration of cell walls and membranes), and cell destruction. Until now, ultrasonic equipment could achieve localized processing in laboratories, but scaling up ultrasonic equipment for production was not possible. Heelscher ultrasonic equipment ensures high output (50,000W) and guarantees continuous operation for 24 hours. The erosion dispersion achieved through 100% cavitation by ultrasound allows for results that could not be achieved by shear force.

The ultrasonic equipment in the ultrasonic bath not only has low output and amplitude but also causes the ultrasound to attenuate as it passes through the medium of water, resulting in only minimal cavitation occurring inside the vials.
