To the teachers who have given up on using SPring-8... It's still too early to give up!
We have been hearing more and more complaints about the difficulties in using the SPring-8 facility, particularly regarding the 'chemistry sample preparation room'!
- There are no dedicated staff.
- I forgot to apply for the use of the chemistry sample preparation room.
- Any small mistake in the application can hinder the experiment.
- Is it okay if the experiment leader does not come to the facility?
- There is no general SPring-8 project number.
- I forgot that there are multiple beamlines to use.
- I forgot to apply for the draft usage.
- I am not sure if the reagents provided are included.
- The beamline staff are too busy to consult about bringing in reagents.
- There was a partial omission of the reagents planned for use.
- The planned usage amount was too small.
- I am unsure if the reagents I am bringing can be used.
- The disposal of waste from the brought-in reagents is troublesome (like taking it back home).
- I am worried that students will cause trouble with waste disposal.
- Instructions and post-use checks fall on weekends and holidays.
- Even basic solvents like acetone are difficult to use.
- Cleaning solutions like acids and bases are also hard to use.
- Working under time pressure is tough in the first place.
- And so on...
Therefore, the Hanyou Chemical Research Institute has the solution!
