SPACECOOL Co., Ltd. and Hitachi, Ltd. will begin a demonstration of the application of radiative cooling technology, which does not require energy for cooling, to stably operate social infrastructure facilities such as power equipment and data centers in response to rising temperatures due to climate change.
Both companies are working to establish new thermal measures that balance the stable operation of critical infrastructure with energy conservation. Additionally, Hitachi will utilize the insights gained from this demonstration in the research and development of the "Energy NEXUS," which integrates power, heat, CO2, and data, and will contribute to the creation of solutions for social infrastructure through Lumada 3.0.
SPACECOOL and Hitachi aim to expand the application of radiative cooling technology to a wide range of social infrastructure fields, including power equipment, data center-related facilities, and renewable energy-related facilities, by utilizing the data and insights gained from this demonstration. SPACECOOL intends to widely promote this technology as a new option for thermal measures in social infrastructure, contributing to the stable operation of facilities, energy conservation, and adaptation to climate change.
