Is it space-saving priority or rigidity priority? A thorough explanation of the optimal application scenes for KLF and KLT ball splines.
KLF/KLT Ball Spline Selection Summary
This is a summary of the features and differentiation of two models that achieve both linear motion and zero backlash torque transmission.
KLF (Round Flange Type): By directly fastening with bolts, it evenly distributes moment loads and exhibits excellent dynamic rigidity. It is ideal for cantilever beams and lateral load environments, such as SCARA robots and wafer transport.
KLT (Cylindrical Type): With key groove transmission, it aligns flush with the housing to eliminate interference. It is suitable for high-density parallel arrangements in extremely small spaces, such as multi-axis dispensing nozzles and mounting machines.
Key Points for Selection
If the shaft diameter is the same, the basic rated load and torque performance are equivalent, and both models are equipped with a structure to prevent steel balls from falling out during external tube extraction. If the pitch between adjacent shafts is less than "flange outer diameter + tool tightening clearance," choose KLT; if mounting rigidity is the top priority, select KLF.
