Measured data of silver-plated film thickness | 108 measurements, process capability, and film thickness variation published.
In silver plating, it is important not only to ensure the requested film thickness but also to suppress the variation in film thickness across the entire product and to process it with stable quality. At Kodama Co., Ltd., to confirm the film thickness distribution of silver plating under actual processing conditions, silver plating was performed on six copper plates (200×200×t2mm) with a target film thickness of 2.0μm, and a total of 108 points on the surface and back were measured.
As a result, the film thickness ranged from 1.26 to 2.36μm, with an average of 1.79μm, and all 108 measurement points fell within the specified range of 1.0 to 3.0μm. On the Kodama-related page, not only the average value but also the maximum value, minimum value, standard deviation, Cp, and Cpk are published.
