**Lecture Summary** High reflectance technology can reduce CO2 emissions from energy consumption sources by decreasing the cooling load of buildings and vehicles. At the same time, it is believed to contribute to improving artificial heat emissions and surface coverage (including roads), which are causes of the heat island phenomenon. Therefore, actively implementing these measures in vehicles and urban centers is considered important and efficient. The Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Osaka Prefecture are all interested in this high reflectance technology (paints) and are providing support in various ways. This presentation will explain recent trends and technologies related to this topic.
