Measurement Principle The measurement principle of the HTD4000 is based on the indentation method of the indenter. A special indenter exclusive to the HTD4000 is penetrated into the sample, and the hardness is measured for each test force. The obtained "test force - hardness" data is analyzed using specially developed software to determine the depth of the hardened layer.
