Pre-treatment for the analysis of desmopressin in serum using LC-MS/MS with EVOLUTE EXPRESS WCX.
This application note describes a sample preparation protocol for the LC-MS/MS detection of the peptide desmopressin in human serum using solid-phase extraction (SPE). Desmopressin is an antidiuretic hormone and a synthetic vasopressin analog. It is clinically used for the treatment of nocturnal enuresis and diabetes insipidus, as well as for coagulation disorders. The method used here achieves reproducible and high recovery rates for desmopressin peptides in serum while minimizing co-elution of proteins, lipids, and phospholipids. The extraction from serum was performed using the EVOLUTE EXPRESS WCX96 well plate.
