On July 1, 2016, the directive 2013/35/EU, which protects workers from electromagnetic fields (EMF) in the workplace, became effective in Europe (EU member states). The exposure limit values are based on recommendations from ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection). In Japan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has established exposure limit values (safety standards) as "Radio Wave Protection Guidelines."
