It offers a lower cost and wider tuning range compared to traditional DBR light sources. (Tuning range: 200kHz; tuning range: 4nm) It enables simple voltage-controlled wavelength tuning for various applications. The pigtailed HCG VCSEL is co-packaged with a thermoelectric cooler for wavelength stabilization and is offered in a 7-pin TO56 package. Bandwidth 10 was founded in 2011 by a research team at the University of California, Berkeley. The company's products are centered around tunable VCSEL technology using HCG (High Contrast Grating), and the tunable DWDM SFP+ optical transceivers compliant with MSA specifications are undergoing practical verification globally, primarily in European data centers.
