It offers a lower cost and wider tuning range compared to traditional DBR light sources. It achieves wavelength tuning through simple voltage control tailored for various applications. The pigtailed HCG VCSEL is co-packaged with a thermoelectric cooler for wavelength stabilization and is offered in a 7-pin TO56 package with a fiber pigtailed option.
