Our cross-flow water turbine for small hydropower generation is equipped with a flow adjustment mechanism (guide vanes), allowing for stable power generation with a simple structure and easy maintenance. The dimensions of the turbine (diameter, width) are determined based on the flow rate and effective head. After that, a prototype is manufactured, and performance tests are conducted under conditions similar to the actual hydraulic environment to verify power generation performance. We have a dedicated water tank for the development of small hydropower generation systems. We use up to three 55 kW pumps as the flow generation device, combined with a 55 kW generator to conduct performance verification tests of the turbine. By using this water tank, we can confirm the power generation performance of the actual unit.
