To perform the upgrade from Dynamics AX to Dynamics 365 more efficiently, we will use the recommended methods and upgrade tools provided by Microsoft for upgrading from Dynamics AX 2012 to Dynamics 365. First, we will conduct an Upgrade Analysis to measure the scale and impact. Next, we will proceed with the code upgrade; however, due to various reasons, the replacement of code cannot be done completely automatically. Based on our past experiences, we have developed the SYSCOM Code Upgrade Optimizer, which has successfully increased the rate of automatic conversions during the code upgrade. However, changes in the development structure (extensions) and features that are no longer provided by Dynamics 365 must be done manually.

End of Support for Various Dynamics AX Versions (as of October 21, 2021) Mainstream support for Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Dynamics AX 2012, and Dynamics AX 2012 R2 ended on October 9, 2018, with the extended support period lasting until April 12, 2022. Mainstream support for Dynamics AX 2012 R3 ended on October 12, 2021, with the extended support period lasting until January 10, 2023. During the extended support period for all versions, only security patches will be provided, so upgrading to Dynamics 365 is recommended.
