This product is a high-purity extract made from broccoli seeds (Brassica oleracea var. italica) and contains 1-10% of the highly active component, water-soluble sulforaphane. Sulforaphane is an important plant-derived compound that belongs to the isothiocyanate family and has been a functional ingredient of interest in the health food market for many years. Due to differences in manufacturing processes, it is not possible to simultaneously maintain both sulforaphane and its precursor, sulforaphane glucosinolate (SGS), at high concentrations in the same product. In sulforaphane production, a conversion process that optimizes enzymatic reactions (myrosinase activity) or enzymatic conditions is essential to reliably convert the precursor, sulforaphane glucosinolate, into sulforaphane. On the other hand, in the extraction of the precursor (SGS), the conversion is suppressed to retain the precursor itself, requiring completely different temperature, pH, and enzymatic environments. It is highly water-soluble and can be adapted to a wide range of formulation types, including functional beverages, powdered drinks, jellies, and supplements (tablets, capsules).
