Helpful for reducing wastewater treatment costs! Energy savings through ammonia control.
Ammonia/Nitrate Ion Sensor VARiON
Real-time monitoring of wastewater treatment with ammonia control!
In DO control, the oxygen consumption of microorganisms during the nitrification process is monitored to indirectly confirm nitrification. However, the DO value fluctuates with a delay from the treatment of ammonia, leading to excessive aeration and increased power consumption in DO control. By combining DO control with ammonia control, it becomes possible to visualize the operating conditions of the aeration tank, achieve energy savings, and prevent treatment failures (such as bulking).

Applications/Examples of results
**Challenges Faced by Wastewater Treatment Plants** - High power consumption (over 50% due to aeration and mixing in reaction tanks) - DO levels fluctuate with a delay from ammonia treatment - Conventional DO control leads to excessive aeration - In combined sewer systems, DO levels fluctuate due to rainfall - Excessive addition of hydrogen donors (such as methanol) **What the Ammonia/Nitrate Ion Sensor VARiON Can Do** - Clarifies the timing of nitrification completion for controlling aeration flow - Measures in disinfection equipment to adjust chlorine dosage - Controls the injection amount of methanol and other substances that promote denitrification = Reduction in power consumption and chemical costs!
