The paint is the same; the difference lies in the substrate. ────────────── ■Cause of Occurrence The pre-treatment and the color of the substrate differ for each material. When the reflection of the substrate changes, the appearance changes even if the topcoat is the same. ■Truth Aluminum has a thin conversion coating, making the substrate appear brighter. Iron has a zinc phosphate coating that gives it a grayish tint, making the same paint look darker. Lighter colors and semi-gloss finishes tend to show more difference, which is noticed after assembly. ■Improvement Measures For parts made of mixed materials, unify the color of the primer to eliminate differences.
