In the case of Nippon Steel's application, S-TEN2 is set in the cooling tower front duct with wall temperatures of 350 to 500°C. In cooling towers and exhaust ducts, sulfuric acid dew point corrosion is the main concern, and S-TEN2 is a candidate when higher strength than S-TEN1 is required for structural materials. On the other hand, for equipment where hydrochloric acid dew point corrosion occurs due to low exhaust gas temperatures or in hydrochloric acid pickling tanks, please select including S-TEN1. COR-TEN is a steel material that suppresses corrosion progression with protective rust on the surface against atmospheric corrosion in structures such as bridges and buildings. In environments where acid condenses, do not simply replace it with the name weather-resistant steel; confirm the type of acid, concentration, wall temperature, and retention of liquid or dust.
