Overview of Observation Services Observation services are divided into two categories: the "Surface and Cross-Section Observation Service," which involves magnified observation of the surface and cross-section of samples to examine their morphology and structure, and the "Non-Destructive Internal Structure Observation Service," which allows for non-destructive observation of the interior of samples. Some equipment is equipped with dimensional measurement and various measurement functions, enabling simultaneous measurement and evaluation during observation. ◆Surface and Cross-Section Observation Service This service provides observation using optical microscopes (from a few times to 3,000 times), scanning electron microscopes (up to about 200,000 times), and transmission electron microscopes (up to about 4 million times), tailored to the sample condition and evaluation purpose. - Surface observation... scratches, cracks, delamination, corrosion, foreign material adhesion, contamination, unevenness, composition, crystals, destruction, etc. - Cross-section observation... cracks, delamination, adhesion, corrosion, contamination, composition, crystals, destruction, diffusion, penetration, alloy layers, voids (bubbles), etc. We also offer polishing and etching services for sample preparation prior to cross-section observation. ◆Non-Destructive Internal Structure Observation Service Through X-ray transmission imaging, it is possible to observe the shape and condition of the internal structure of samples non-destructively and measure the dimensions of the internal structure. Depending on the evaluation purpose and the size, shape, and condition of the sample, imaging is conducted using X-ray transmission devices (2D observation) or X-ray CT imaging devices (3D observation). With X-ray observation, it is possible to confirm internal disconnections, observe internal destruction conditions, inspect for foreign material contamination, measure the wall thickness of the product's interior, check the clearance of fitting parts, and verify the occurrence of voids (measuring area and volume), among other tasks.
