InnovMetric Launches PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2019
PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2019 offers a new custom measurement feature that allows users to treat their own measurement methods on par with PolyWorks standard functions, as well as a measurement sequence creation assistance feature that significantly reduces the time required to create measurement sequences for CNC coordinate measuring machines. By defining measurement methods with short macro scripts, the following becomes possible: - Creation of user-specific measurement methods. - Support for measuring instruments other than 3D measuring machines. - Simplification of measurement data acquisition operations. - Provision of more effective measurement methods and operation guides to the measurer during work. To measure parts using a CNC coordinate measuring machine, it is necessary to define appropriate measurement paths and parameters required for CNC measurement, known as measurement sequences, which is very time-consuming. A new measurement sequence creation assistance feature is available to automate most of this process. The measurer can simply select measurement elements and add them to the sequence editing window, and the following can be automatically created: - The optimal measurement path that minimizes measurement time. - Probe directions suitable for each measurement element. - Measurement paths that do not interfere with the part and its fixture.
