On January 16, 2019, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry solidified their policy to strengthen regulations on alternative refrigerants under the Fluorocarbon Emission Control Law. According to survey results compiled by the Ministry of the Environment in December 2018, it was revealed that 63% of alternative refrigerants used in equipment such as air conditioners and refrigerators are disposed of without being recovered at the time of equipment disposal.
