[Pokayoke Example] Prevention of forgetting to insert the E-ring
Realizing prevention of forgetting to insert the E-ring.
We received a request from a multifunction printer unit manufacturer stating, "In order to implement poka-yoke in the assembly process of the paper feeding device (tray module) of the multifunction printer, we are currently judging work omissions based on the weight of screws and bolts, which are 'the necessary weight for fastening.' However, the E-ring (E-type retaining ring) is too light, making it difficult to judge by weight. We would like to implement poka-yoke for the E-ring insertion process (to prevent forgetting to insert it) using a different method." In response to the request to attach our poka-yoke transmitter to the E-ring holder (the tool used for inserting E-rings) that the customer is currently using, we have made the following design considerations, taking into account that "the shape of the E-ring holder varies according to the size of the E-ring being handled." [Details] (1) By changing the "pipe section" to match the shape of the E-ring holder, it can accommodate different E-rings. (2) The spring inside the "pipe section" can be easily replaced according to the force applied to the E-ring. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
