[Example] Design and manufacture of custom long arbor.
Rigidity that takes into account bending and warping is also necessary! An example designed to maintain the original rigidity.
This blog introduces a custom long arbor that can be attached to the spindles of machine tools such as machining centers. We received a request for the design and production of a custom arbor from a customer who has previously commissioned us for the design and production of processing jigs. The key focus of this project is the length of the arbor. The customer requested this custom size because the workpiece has a vertical wall of approximately 630 to 640 mm, and this length is necessary to perform drilling, tapping, and surface machining while avoiding the wall. First, we gathered all the parts and purchased items for assembly, then installed it on our machining center to check the accuracy. We attached the cutting tool and checked for runout at the tip. As a result, the runout was within 0.015 mm, achieving the target value of 0.02 mm that was discussed with the customer. *For more details about this case, you can view it through the related links.
