[Product Design Case] Computer-Controlled Spring Machine

A case that adopts a large-opening, space-saving, link-type sliding door.

"ASITA" is a machine cover development service provided by Adrise Co., Ltd. We would like to introduce a case where we designed the MCS-20 computer-controlled spring machine requested by Itaya Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The front door opens sideways, and since there is a need for set changes, we were asked to ensure that the opening is large while also considering a space-saving arrangement. After implementation, it was beneficial that they provided suggestions from both design and structural design perspectives, such as the link-type sliding door and the structure of the shooter. We received feedback expressing a desire to adopt this for other models as well. [Case Study] ■ Challenges - The door needs to open wide due to set changes. - Must comply with CE standards. - Minimize additional processing on the main body and attach the cover. - Support for the attachment and detachment of optional units is required. ■ Proposal - Adopted a link-type sliding door (plug door) for the structure of the front door. - Saved space when opening the doors to the left and right, allowing for a large opening. - Designed a structure that allows part of the front door and shooter to be detachable. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Cost reduction case study that achieves a reduction in processing man-hours through material optimization in difficult-to-machine materials.

The key to improving the machinability of difficult materials depends on whether rigidity is required or not.

The amount of cutting affects costs in proportion to the processing man-hours. By changing difficult-to-cut material parts to optimal materials based on specifications, we can reduce costs. The key is to identify parts that can be replaced with materials like aluminum and resin, which have lower cutting resistance. When considering the issues with SS and SUS material parts, we will think about possible solutions based on their poor machinability. There are cases where strength and rigidity are required from the parts, and there are also many instances where they are not required. In such cases, changing the material while keeping the same shape can open up avenues for cost reduction. We will consider solutions to this problem using Value Analysis (VA) and Value Engineering (VE).
