The amount of air and bubble spacing coefficient obtained from the bubble structure meter of hardened concrete is an important indicator of resistance to freeze-thaw cycles. The measurement methods include the "linear traverse method" and the "modified point count method" specified by ASTM, both of which require significant time and effort, and there is a problem of individual differences in measurements. The image processing analysis method developed using PCs to solve this issue had not yet established image recognition technology. To address these problems, Marui developed a unique bubble structure measurement device. After filling the bubbles in the concrete sample with cyanoacrylate containing fluorescent dye, the sample is irradiated with ultraviolet light to make only the bubble structure emit light, while simultaneously enabling image processing by binarizing the brightness at a certain threshold. The operation and handling are also simple, allowing for easier and faster measurement of bubble structures than before.

My research focuses on the responses of plants and cyanobacteria to abiotic stress and the control of cyanobacterial growth, divided into four areas. 1. The growth and physiological responses of aquatic plants to abiotic stress. I am studying how plants respond to stressors such as microplastics, salinity, and light. 2. Abiotic stress in cyanobacteria. I am researching how cyanobacteria respond to stressors like temperature, light, and microplastics. The goal of studies 1 and 2 is to understand the physiological characteristics of aquatic plants and cyanobacteria under stress. 3. Controlling cyanobacterial growth using the effects of aquatic plants. This study investigates the impact of environmental stressors (salinity, microplastics, light) on the significant relationship between plants and cyanobacteria. 4. Research is being conducted on methods to produce biological building materials without cement by utilizing the biomineralization of cyanobacteria. Additionally, I am studying the effects of electrical signals and electromagnetic radiation on plants.

Viscosity measurement outsourcing

We accept measurements of liquid viscosity. A small sample volume is sufficient, with only 2ml required.

We offer liquid viscosity measurement using the laboratory-type viscometer Visco Lab 4000 from Cambridge Viscosity. The service fee starts at 50,000 yen for 1 sample/1 temperature. For samples of the same type, we will first conduct a preliminary assessment to determine the feasibility of measurement with one sample. Please check with the person in charge regarding the cost of the preliminary assessment. ★ A sample volume of just 2ml is sufficient, and we have prepared four viscosity ranges: 0.5-10 cP, 5-10 cP, 50-1,000 cP, and 500-10,000 cP, with temperature settings available for specified values between 10℃ and 80℃. ★ The measurement data for the sample liquid will include raw measurement data, a viscosity meter calibration inspection report, a calibration standard liquid inspection report, and a calibration standard liquid traceability diagram. ★ If there are multiple sample concentrations or if there is a request for multi-point temperature measurements, we will accommodate each point accordingly. ★ As for the delivery time, we typically accept orders within one week after receiving the request.
